John leaves for a trip = sick child... It seems that is the case anyway...
Annabelle went to preschool Tuesday and when I got her home she felt very warm... Acted fine but I knew she had some temp... So I checked her and it was 103! YIKES...SO I called and actually got a same day appointment (this never happens for those of you not familiar with BACH). With both girls in tow we go to the doctors. It seems Annabelle has strep! They never did a throat culture so I am not exactly sure how they diagnosed this but he said she had a very red ear and very read throat. He did call it "early strep" so maybe he was trying to treat before it was full blow strep.. who knows... so I was given oral, chewable, augmentin (a type of penicillin) which she refuses to take.. I told the dr this but apparently he thought she would?!?! He also said Addison shouldn't catch it as most under the age of 18-24 months don't get it for whatever reason... lets all pray now that he is correct, at least for my sake...
We spent all day watching movies.. no kidding... Mr Inc (yes, I am letting her watch this again but only because she begs and I skip the very beginning), chitty-chitty bang-bang, shrek, Wall-E and then monsters inc once again before bed... no kidding.. John got home early last night so she was able to see him which I think helped her quite a bit!
Addison is just a great baby! She is now, as of last night out of the swaddle and in a sleep sack.. she eats like a little piggy though.. She is already a bit chunky but at the rate she is eating now she is only going to get more plump! :) She grins from ear to ear when ever you smile at her and it really just melts my heart...
John leaves again in three days for three weeks (give or take) and Annabelle is going to spend some time with her Evans' family! I am going to drive her with Gran and Odie meeting me half way and then drive all the way there to pick her up staying a few days so they can spend some time with Addison too... It will be great for all, Annabelle to see her cousins that she doesn't get to see often and for me to only have one little one to handle.. THANK YOU GRAN AND ODIE!! Let me tell you, as much as John love his job (this current one) I hate it...
I am going to attach some photos of Annabelle eating her strawberries from Amber... she loved them and wears her crown (they came in a crowned bucket) on her head all the time.. very cute.. and of course a photo of Addison too..:)
love to you all!!

So today John picked Annabelle up from preschool and was informed she and two of her "friends" were seen kissing! AHHHHHHH!!!!! Apparently they were sitting next to each other... the three of them... Annabelle, Boy 1 and Boy 2 (keeping their names private in case one becomes president !!) Annabelle leans over and kisses Boy 1 who in turn kisses Boy 2! HAHAH.. I asked her to show me how she kissed him and she planted one on me!! Too cute.... or should I be worried? Worried about GERMS!! OH NO!!!!..... Aaahhhhhhhh
Just had to share...

First, yesterday was the two year anniversary of flight 472. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families left to carry on and the soldiers will always be in our hearts!
Yesterday was an eventful day for the Evans' house! It was 70 degrees so John took Annabelle out to kick the ball and our friend Thomas came down to play too! they had a ball, no pun intended! Addison also had a fun day complete with rolling over for the first time!! YEAH! John was drying off Annabelle from her bath and I had Addison on the bed.. Tummy down, then she just pushed herself over onto her back... Both John and I got to see it this time, unlike when Annabelle rolled the first time fathers day when John was deployed! I didn't get it on video but rest assured I will! :)
Annabelle is still happily monster free and has not had an issue after the "monster" spray began... she did wake night before last crying but we think it was because she was hungry.. Addison is sleeping very well... about 8 hours at a time.. (currently sleeping as I type) and is just a happy girl all around... She is a little chunk but sweet as sugar!
Today Annabelle has preschool and I am going to get more of my consignment clothing and items ready for sale and pick up Addison's photo from being framed! I will take a photo and post it so you can see.... It is just too cute! I LOVE IT...
Tomorrow night I am getting together with some old friends from Ezell-Harding thanks to facebook! We are having a "girls night" out and I am so excited to have some mindless adult conversation! :)
I hope you are all well... We love you and miss those far away!

Monsters in the closet?

So..... Last Monday John left for a TDY trip and I was here with the girls. No big deal, I had done it many times before but not like this.. Annabelle refused to nap, screaming and crying for me when I would put her down. I thought "ok, she will just go down easily tonight" so we skipped nap time. Bedtime came around and the screaming started! OH MY GOD... screaming and crying and calling for me, asking for everything from "milk" to "carry you" (she says this when she wants you to carry her) to "go potty" to "juice" and "rub back! rub back!"... you name it, she was covering it! After two hours of crying and several trips to comfort her, to no avail, she finally fell asleep. The same goes for Tuesday and Wednesday nap and night! Wednesday was just horrible.. I was really sick of it and my patience was gone.. I seriously thought something was wrong with her... she just changed over night into this child I didn't know... Happy during the day but once night or nap time came, she was just horrible... So I decided to get some text help and bought two books "toddler 411" and #scream free parenting" both of which I needed after Wednesday night...
She never mentioned being afraid of anything in her room but she just started watching Monsters, INC and I thought what the hell.. (I really had nothing to lose) and decided to "fix" the monsters if they indeed existed in her closet! One book suggested "monster spray" (a bottle of whatever you spray in her room and closet) to keep those boogers at bay and make one of her animals (in our case Goggy) have super monster butt kicking powers! So I talk her though what I am doing with the monster spray (bottle of water, sprayed all over her room) and that they really hate the way it smells even though she can't smell it and that the monsters are terrified of goggie (a stuffed dog if you were wondering) ... I even went so far as to growl and bark like goggie would do to keep the monsters away... and had a chat with goggie before leaving him at the foot of her bed.
Not so much as a peep came out of her! OH MY GOD! Now, John was home Thursday so there might be that coincidence of her sleeping but I really think it is Monsters, Inc issue.. Now we hear "no monsters" all the time and she has slept each nap and night with little to no resistance! I love it!
I just thought I would share with you all... feeling pretty good about my parenting skills now and might be able to make it through the next stage of toddler hood!
One other milestone! Annabelle is really going potty well and both Tuesday and Thursday at preschool she was dry all day long! They told me they didn't change one wet diaper! WOW.. she really is going all the time now but I really think it just as much about getting candy as actually needing to go potty! I am very proud!
OK... gotta run! love to you all!

Annabelle's 2nd birthday...
08 February, 2009 at 10:12 AM Posted under
So sorry this is a tad late but there just hasn't been time to get it down!! Annabelle turned 2 a week ago and we had a small party for her at Grammy and Papa's house... Aside from the M'boro family, Cerae and her family was there and DeWayne and Jessica stopped by too! It was small but she had a great time! I am going to post some videos of her opening her gifts which are pretty funny and maybe one of her cake.. She wasn't too excited about the "happy birthday" song which is funny because she sings it often at home...
Friday we had both girls check-ups... Neither were 100% well but well enough for this time of year. :) A huge thank you to Sharelle who came up to watch one while the other was with me at the office!! you are once again a life saver!! :)
Annabelle is now 28 pounds and 2 ft 11 inches tall! (tall and lean)I think she is 75%both in length and weight) She certainly has mastered speaking in two word sentences and is growing up wayyyy too fast.. She was very good at her appointment, the first time she didn't scream her head off when they check her o2 stats and pulse (you know, the little thingy they put on her toe or thumb!) a true sign she is growing up!!
Addison is now weighing 12 pounds and is 22 inches long.. (short and fat it seems) She is closer to 80% weight and 30% in length... our little chunky monkey.... She didn't enjoy her appointment at all... cried through most of it... She is however a sleeping trooper! 10 hours, knock wood! She is eating 6oz at a feeding and is an all around great baby! we still have her on the lactose free milk based formula and will probably keep her on this unless we find a need to change it...
Addison had her 3 month photos taken, though she is only 2.5 months old. They are so cute!! here is the link to the site, enter the site, go to client proofing and enter addison as the password and you can see them all. www.dragonflystudiosphotography.com
Today we are going to enjoy a beautiful spring like day... it was already 60 at 9 am so it should be glorious ... We still haven't made it to church due to my fear of Addison (or Annabelle) getting some nasty bug... with John heading out once again fin March I don't want to risk being here with both kids sick if I can help it!
I think I am going to go enjoy the day and get outside!! much love to all of you!!
